11138176_1575665702708617_2226805866582110837_nFollowing a public talk on light pollution in Lough Gur Heritage Center on Saturday night the Lough Gur Dark Skies Park Initative was launched. Work has already begun on the lengthy process of obtaining official Dark Sky status from the International Dark Sky Association. Despite being only 20km from the centre of Limerick City, we recorded a SQM-L reading of 21.1 during a gap in the clouds.
