Dark Sky Ireland, in collaboration with Leave No Trace Ireland, the Irish Environmental Network, Friends of Mayo Dark Skies and Bat Conservation Mayo, invite you to join us during Biodiversity Week for a FREE fun and information evening.
As the night draws in, we will start our evening with some information on Ireland’s 9 species of Bats, and the importance of keeping ecological corridors intact for our wildlife. Members of Dark Sky Ireland and the Mayo Dark Skies project will join to explain Mayo’s goal for a dark sky county reserve and to present tools and tips for stargazing when skies are clear. We’ll combine the evening with an easy walk, listening for bats and and if the opportunity allows, we’ll do a little stargazing.
